MILANO – On the evening of Monday, February 28, the EU published a list of 26 names of businessmen closely linked to the Russian president Vladimir Putin. These are the infamous oligarchswho became billionaires in the late 1990s with the privatization of former state-owned companiesin the oil, steel and raw materials sectors, and which then over the 2000s to the present day have invested their fortunes in Western markets by buying buildings in cities, villas in the most prestigious locations and yachts of enormous size.
