On the occasion of CES 2024, AMD, the American multinational processor manufacturer, announced two new products for the automotive sector and will show the new solutions live together with its partners in Las Vegas. The two new solutions announced are the Versal AI Edge advanced driver safety and autonomous driving.

Versal AI Edge XA adaptive SoCs

The new Chips add an advanced AI engine, which helps optimize devices for numerous next-generation advanced automotive systems and applications, including: front cameras, in-cabin monitoring, LiDAR, 4D radar, surround-view, automated parking and autonomous driving . The new SOCs are also the first AMD 7-nanometer devices to be self-qualified, bringing hardened IP and increased security to automotive applications where safety is paramount.

Ryzen Embedded V2000 Series

It allows automakers to offer better performance and multitasking for infotainment and IVX systems. They power the next-generation digital cockpit, from the infotainment console to digital passenger displays. The expansion of the AMD Ryzen Embedded V2000A series brings the first family of self-qualifying x86 processors to deliver the same PC-like experience that consumers have come to expect from home entertainment and can now enjoy in vehicles.

Artificial intelligence is one of the big themes that characterizes this edition of CES, which is why AMD has chosen to present its adaptive chips here. Equipped with AI Engine, they offer many advantages for artificial intelligence, vision and signal processing. Versal AI Edge AI engines can handle different types of models, such as classification and feature tracking. The new SoCs are also capable of accelerating high-performance AI computing applications, while providing safety and automotive design advancement capabilities. The first devices will be released in early 2024, with further releases expected throughout the year.
