Combiomed Presents New Pulmonary Ventilator for Intensive Care at BioHabana 2024
At the recent BioHabana 2024 conference, Combiomed, a digital medical technology company, unveiled their latest innovation – the pulmonary ventilator for intensive care for adults, model A5709. This ventilator has already received health registration approval and is in the process of being integrated into the national health system.
Arlem Fernández Sigler, the general director of Combiomed, highlighted the key features of the ventilator, including its ability to provide temporary or permanent breathing support to patients in need. The equipment covers the entire ventilation fan and offers non-invasive modes of constant positive pressure support.
The development of this lung ventilator involved a multidisciplinary team and rigorous testing, with input from doctors and guidance from Cecmed at every stage. The project was initiated on March 25, 2020, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and has now been successfully registered after four years of development.
Currently, eight of these ventilators have been introduced at hospitals in Havana, with plans to expand distribution to other provinces. Training will be provided to ensure the proper use of the equipment by healthcare personnel.
In addition to the pulmonary ventilator, Combiomed also showcased a new product for the treatment of ulcers, which will be incorporated into a backpack for the care of chronic non-communicable diseases. With over 30 years of experience in product development for the healthcare system, Combiomed is part of BioCubaFarma and aims to continue innovating in the field of medical technology.
