Five Nobel Laureates – David Card, Michael Spence, Jean Tirol, Esther Duflo Christopher Pissarides – seven ministers (Roberto Cingolani, Mara Carfagna, Enrico Giovannini, Vittorio Colao, Patrizio Bianchi, Renato Brunetta, Elena Bonetti), the governor of the Bank of Italy Ignazio Visco, the European commissioner Paolo Gentiloni, the president of the Constitutional Court Giuliano Amato. The International Festival of Economics scheduled in Turin from Tuesday 31 May to Saturday 4 June is an exceptional parterre.
In all 140 appointments to reflect together on Merit, diversity, social justice, with the final concert «Music is dangerous», by maestro Nicola Piovani. Today the Festival program is presented to the city at Sermig.
There are really a lot of speakers. Impossible to mention them all. There are LIliana Segre, Roberto Saviano, Alessandro Barbero, Michael Sandel, one of the most brilliant and authoritative American philosophers, Carlo Cottarelli, Luigi Zingales, Gherardo Colombo. There are also numerous women, among which the economist Nina Roussille, Beata Javorcik, chief economist at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Camille Landais, Elsa Fornero, Elena Loewenthal stand out. Among the Turin names also Gustavo Zagrebelski and Don Ciotti. The Nobel Pissarides will conclude with the lecture ‘What have we learned from the Festival?’.
