Italy is the country that in 2022 spent more as a percentage of GDP (3.25 percent) compared to the main European countries (France, Germany, United Kingdom, Spain and the Netherlands) to counter the rise in energy prices. However, many of the measures adopted by the Draghi executive are due to expire in November and December of this year.
