A lipstick in the left package, a shampoo in the package on the far right, a nail polish in the middle one: it takes the employee less than 20 seconds to fill three packages ready for shipping. The robots deliver the items in such a way that the picker only needs a few steps before the packages can start their journey to an online customer or a branch. 32 such pickers in three shifts work here in the run-up to Christmas, in Douglas’ logistics center – full operation, high season. Up to 114,000 packages per day can currently be filled in Hamm, North Rhine-Westphalia. Stand now.
