For this year it will overlap for a few days with the Festival organized in Trento by Il Sole 24 Ore but for subsequent editions the dates will be moved and there will be no overlaps.
An agreement that ultimately satisfies everyone: the local institutions, which have always claimed they do not want to hold a Piedmontese demonstration against the one in Trentino, and the organizers, who have already largely set the program and launched the invitations to which four prizes have signed up. Yesterday the solution came during a meeting attended by the organizers, the president of Piedmont Alberto Cirio, the mayor Stefano Lo Russo, the Crt Foundations and Compagnia di San Paolo, the Turin Chamber of Commerce, Unioncamere Piemonte, in addition to the rector of the University of Turin Stefano Geuna, that of the Polytechnic of Turin Guido Saracco, Giorgio Barba Navaretti, president of the Collegio Carlo Alberto and the local organizing committee coordinated by Pietro Garibaldi.
The program already prepared by the organizers can thus continue the march. Among the international guests already confirmed, Christopher Pissarides, Olivier Blanchard and Adrian Wooldridge. Many historical events at the Egyptian Museum, with Eva Cantarella, Barry Eichengreen and Joel Mokyir. And then, the history of ideas: that of social justice with Thomas Piketty and of social mobility with Daron Acemoglu. Collaborations with the Cinema Museum and the Savings Museum. And again, the philosopher Michael Sandel, jurists of the caliber of Cass Sunstein and finally Marianne Bertrand, Claudia Goldin and Shelly Lundberg.
