Elon Musk Speaks Out on Ketamine Use and Late-Night Social Media Posts

In a recent interview with journalist Don Lemon, billionaire Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed that he is “almost always” sober during his late-night or early morning posting sessions on his social media platform, X. Musk addressed his use of ketamine as a medication, stating that he uses a small amount once every two weeks to help with his negative moods, which he suspects are related to genetic depression.

Musk denied any misuse of the medication, emphasizing that he needs to remain mentally sharp to handle his demanding 16-hour workdays. He also dismissed concerns about the impact of his ketamine use on his companies, stating that what matters to investors is the execution and value generation of his businesses.

The interview with Lemon touched on various topics, including Musk’s views on diversity, equity, and inclusion programs, as well as his take on the Tesla Cybertruck lawsuit. Musk also addressed the state of advertising on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, which he acquired. Despite previous controversies over hateful and controversial content, Musk reported that almost all advertisers have returned to the platform, with advertising and subscription revenues increasing rapidly.

Musk reiterated his stance on censorship, stating that while advertisers can choose where their ads appear, they cannot dictate the platform’s entire content. He warned that advertisers advocating for full platform censorship would not be welcome on X. The interview ended on a contentious note, leading to the cancellation of a deal for Lemon’s new streaming show to be featured on the platform.
