This is Fameccanica, founded in 1975, and since 1992 an equal joint venture between Angelini Industries and P&G, which just a week ago, the group based in Rome took over 100% by acquiring the remaining 50% stake from Procter & Gamble.
With over 1,200 machines delivered all over the world, more than 600 patents in total assets and 700 employees in the three production sites (in Italy, in San Giovanni Teatino, Chieti; in China in Shanghai and in the USA in West Chester, Ohio) , «Historically it has specialized in the design and production of production lines for consumer goods and a leader in the sector of disposable hygienic products – explained the general manager Alessandro Bulfon -. In the last two years, however, we have begun to diversify, developing a wealth of knowledge and skills that we had but had not been adequately exploited. Hence the acceleration in the development projects of technologies, robotics and services for industrial production (from sanitary towels to household goods, from personal hygiene to first aid and bottling), sustainable packaging, handling and automated recognition also in e-commerce function ».
