Ferragni and Alessandra Balocco investigated for aggravated fraud

Chiara Ferragni is under investigation by the Milan prosecutor’s office for aggravated fraud in relation to the promotion of the Balocco pandoro. Also under investigation for the same crime Alessandra Balocco as a representative of the company. The hypothesis of the crime contested in the investigation file opened by the Milanese investigators is fraud aggravated by the impaired defence, an aggravating circumstance which is triggered in the case of fraud carried out via electronic means.

Ferragni: acted in good faith

“I am calm because I have always acted in good faith and I am sure that this will emerge from the ongoing investigations. I have full faith in the activity of the judiciary and I immediately made myself available with my lawyers to collaborate and clarify every detail of what happened in the shortest possible time” states Chiara Ferragni in a note commenting on the registration in the register of suspects. “I am, however, deeply disturbed by the exploitation that part of the media is carrying out, even by spreading news that is objectively untrue”.

New investigation in sight

Last December 14, the Antitrust fined the companies Phoenix and Tbs Crewattributable to Ferragni, for over one million euros together with Balocco (420,000 euros) for unfair commercial practices regarding the sale of Ferragni-branded pandoros, the advertising of which suggested that a portion of the proceeds from the sales went to charity.

Meanwhile, a new investigation could be added to those on the Balocco pandoro and the Chiara Ferragni-designed Dolci Preziosi Easter egg. This is the Trudi-Limited Edition doll linked to an initiative from May 2019. The profits from the product, on sale on The Blonde Salad, go to Stomp out bullying, a non-profit organization that fights cyberbullying, but investigators are now investigating how the charity was actually done.
