ROME – It dates back to the end of the 80s the decision to demolish the notorious Vele di Scampiathe residential complex on the northern outskirts of Naples which, in the intentions of the designer, the brilliant architect Franz Di Salvo, was to revive that piece of marginal and degraded city, building a series of services useful for creating a community around the small lodgings created in seven large buildings with an iconic shape: green areas, common areas every six floors, recreation centres, sports fields, churches and playrooms.
