Gas consumption: Germany in international comparison: Newspaper for municipal economy

Gas consumption in Germany fell further in 2023 compared to the previous year. According to Ganexo calculations, the total was 822 terawatt hours (TWh). This corresponds to a decrease of seven percent compared to the previous year, when 881 TWh were consumed.

Compared to the average for the years 2018 to 2022, gas consumption even fell by around 20 percent.
