The clash over the tax on public land to be imposed on pharmacies that have gazebos to make tampons or anti Covid vaccines is approaching in Milan. A thorny issue raised by the opposition councilor Annarosa Racca (Lega), who in an agenda proposed to suspend the tax or at least lighten it for 2022. An initiative unanimously shared by the city council but which will have to find a more precise definition
in addition, where the positions are more articulated. The Councilor for the Budget Emmanuel Conte gave a positive opinion to the proposal to exempt the vaccine gazebos, which, moreover, did not pay even in 2021 as they were considered indispensable for the public service. However, the junta believes that if a pharmacy charges for tampons then it can also pay the tax on the occupation of public land. This is the orientation of Palazzo Marino, which will be discussed in the next few weeks in the council. At the moment the pharmacies involved are a minority, but according to Racca, a reduction in the tax could also push other pharmacies, which in this way would carry out the tamponade activities better and more safely. The councilor explains her position: «If the exemption is not possible, we ask for at least a reduction in the amount. For pharmacies, tampons are a cost, they often hire ad hoc staff and choose the gazebo to be faster and reduce congregations. But the occupation of public land can also cost 100 or 150 euros per day ».
