Volkswagen in the summer of 1976 launched a sporty version of the Golf: the GTI. Back then, no one thought it would become the most successful sports compact in the world: the 5,000 cars initially planned have now become well over 2.3 million. To celebrate the 45th birthday of this sporting icon, the Wolfsburg-based brand has created a special anniversary series: the Golf GTI Clubsport 45, based on the 300hp GTI Clubsport. The strong characterization makes the Clubsport 45 very attractive for collectors, even when new. This special edition is available in Italy at the list price of 51,900 Euros. In addition, the Italian range of the Golf GTI is further expanded with the introduction of the 245 HP version with manual transmission. The latter is offered at a price of 39,450 euros.
