The 171 thousand pharmaceutical chemistry workers sent Federchimica and Farmindustria a request for an increase of 180 euros on Tec, the overall economic treatment, for the average reference level (D1). With the energy shock, there is a certain pressure on the renewals: the indicator used for the economic increase is net of imported energy goods which are the basis of most of the inflation. Istat expects the forecast for the current year, the forecast for the next 3 years, then 2023, 2024, 2025, and then the final balance for 2021, to verify the deviations.
The Observatory method
The meetings of Filctem, Femca and Uiltec have in any case already approved the claim platform for the renewal of the national employment contract for the three-year period 1 July 2022 – 30 June 2025. The contract has not yet expired (the deadline is at the end of June) but In the sector, traditionally, the work in progress of industrial relations provides for a constant dialogue within the National Observatory where the issues are progressively addressed between one renewal and another. The first meeting in which the parties will get to the heart of the final part of the negotiation has been set for May 31st.
The annual verification method and welfare
In their platform, the unions confirmed the method of verification and annual adaptation of the Tem which, from their point of view, “has demonstrated its validity even in the face of a historical phase characterized by uncertainty and extreme variability”, as explained by Filctem, Femca and Uiltec. The total economic increase requested also takes into account the increase in the benefits of the pension and health insurance funds, Fonchim and Faschim. The goal is to encourage membership to support this contract right, especially for younger people.
The digital transition
As emerged in the dialogue born within the National Observatory of the sector, the digital transition will require the parties to manage together the paths to grow the skills necessary to manage new organizational models and processes. Training will increasingly become an active policy tool that will serve the growth of workers but also to defend jobs. Also for this reason, the unions have asked for a day of effective performance to be allocated also to training activities. The discussion will also extend to the new ways of working that digital tools have brought, as well as to issues related to diversity and inclusion and the introduction in the company observatory of a section dedicated to health, safety and the environment.
