The DAX stock index exceeded the 18,000 point mark again on Monday.

Despite the escalation in the Middle East – Iran attacked Israel on the night of April 14th – the German leading index rose by 0.60 percent to 18,037.46 points.

However, market stabilization remains fragile as it is unclear how Israel will respond to the Iranian attack.

The DAX stock index embarked on a recovery course on Monday and exceeded the 18,000 point mark again. However, given the escalation in the Middle East conflict, this stabilization remains fragile.

At the beginning of the trading day, the leading German index rose by 0.60 percent to 18,037.46 points. In the past two weeks, the Dax went into correction mode after reaching a record high of 18,567 points shortly after Easter. Since then it has lost almost four percent.

The MDax, on the other hand, lost 0.20 percent on Monday and fell to 26,524.59 points. The EuroStoxx 50, the leading index for the euro zone, rose by 0.57 percent to 4983.34 points.

The Iranian attack on Israel on Saturday was largely ignored on the stock markets. Investors had already prepared for a possible military strike before the weekend, said portfolio manager Thomas Altmann from QC Partners. There is even a certain relief that the Iranian attack was not even more violent. However, it is unclear how the Israeli leadership will react, which, according to media reports, has not yet made a decision. Meanwhile, the stock exchanges in the Middle East were spared major losses.
