ROME (ITALPRESS) – The connection services throughout Italy of Itabus, the new private long-distance road transport operator, will start tomorrow. The company unveiled its buses today, at the Maxxi, to an audience of ministers, institutions and journalists: among those present, the Minister of Transport, Enrico Giovannini, the Minister of Tourism, Massimo Garavaglia, the Minister for the South and Territorial Cohesion , Maria Rosaria Carfagna. The Itabus shareholders did the honors: Flavio Cattaneo, founder of the innovative project, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, Lucio Punzo and Giovanni Punzo (also acting as honorary president), Isabella Seragnoli and Angelo Donati. The Itabus fleet, which when fully operational will boast 300 latest generation vehicles, will allow 350 services per day and 90 million kilometers per year to be carried out, generating employment with over 1,000 direct and indirect jobs. On board there are all the travel comforts (vending machines, toilets, USB and power sockets for each seat) and in the double-decker bus a double Comfort + and Top environment, with fully reclining seats. The fleet will be renewed periodically to guarantee an average age of less than 2 years. Constant experimentation will always guarantee the use of the latest technologies and the best sustainable power supplies available on the market, thanks to the collaboration with partners: Man with an innovative system will guarantee scheduled and cyclic maintenance of the bus, Eni will supply Eni diesel + diesel, contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions compared to traditional fuels and Tim will enable and make available the internet services on board 4 / 5G. The company, financially supported by the intervention of Intesa Sanpaolo (through the Imi Corporate & Investment Banking division) therefore looks to innovation without forgetting the safety of its fleet. From the presence of 2 drivers for night and long-distance journeys, to the constant monitoring of the vehicle through an operations room active 24 hours a day 7 days a week. From tomorrow Itabus will travel throughout the Italian territory. Immediately served Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Emilia Romagna, Lazio, Liguria, Lombardy, Marche, Molise, Piedmont, Puglia, Tuscany, Trentino-Alto-Adige, Umbria and Veneto. The plans also include Sicily, which will be connected to the network, and with a view to expanding its network, in the near future also the other Italian regions.
