Japan trade balance: December export and import trends

Japan’s trade balance numbers for December released. Imports rose 20.6% year over year, slightly below Reuters expectations of a 22.4% increase. Exports grew by 11.5%, more than the 10.1% expected. The result was a trade deficit of 1.45 trillion yen (the equivalent of $11.27 billion) for Japan.
