Lamborghini appoints Rouven Mohr as new chief technical officer. Maurizio Reggiani becomes vice president of Motorsport

by admin

Maurizio Reggiani is a real Lamborghini institution. The reason? All the most successful models of the last 16 years were born under his technical direction, thanks to the position of chief technical officer obtained in 2006. From this year, however, the responsibility of the Emilian R&D Department will pass to Rouven Mohr, currently responsible for vehicle validation in Audi in Germany.
No exit for the former Cto but the new position of vice president of the Motorsport division.
The next strategic orientation of the entire Lamborghini Motorsport sector will depend on Maurizio Reggiani, which in recent years has won a long list of victories in the GT championships.
The entry into the new position, in a period of transition for the racing sector towards an increasingly sustainable future, is therefore aimed at strengthening the Lamborghini Squadra Corse in the context of highly competitive championships.
Maurizio Reggiani was behind every fundamental decision. He was the father of the most successful Lamborghini models, from the Aventador to the Urus, from the Huracán to the Countach LPI 800-4, models that have become icons in the history of the brand or will soon become one. His pioneering vision has given continuity to Lamborghini’s DNA, which has made the drive for innovation one of its founding values since 1963. The appointment of Rouven Mohr comes at a time of profound transformation for Lamborghini, in view of the forthcoming electrification of the entire product range.

Maurizio Reggiani, vice president of Motorsport Lamborghini

Born in Modena in 1959, Maurizio Reggiani is by right one of the personalities who have contributed to the success of the Motor Valley in the world. His career began with Maserati in 1982, in the department dedicated to engine design and development. Then Bugatti in Campogalliano, from 1987 to 1995, where he is responsible for the propulsion unit of the EB110. Finally Lamborghini, where he joined in 1995 as Project Leader of Murciélago, a role he held until 2001, when he was appointed Head of the Research and Development Department for the propulsion and suspension sector. In 2006 he was appointed chief technical officer and in this role he defined the strategies underlying the most important technological and design innovations of the V12, V10 and V8T models and of the special series of the Casa del Toro, thus helping to support with products of continuous success the commercial records of recent years. Now the appointment of Reggiani as vice president of Motorsport could lead to Lamborghini’s participation in the LMDH (Le Mans Daytona hybrid), an indiscretion that has been circulating among insiders for some time but not yet confirmed by the leaders of the Bull.
