Sergio Mattarella returns to dismiss the hypothesis of an encore at the Colle. He does so by remembering Giovanni Leone 20 years after his death, and underlining that he too, as in the past another Head of State, Antonio Segni, asked for “the non-re-election of the President of the Republic with the elimination of the blank semester”. In this way, his words transform his visit to the city into what will probably be his last farewell to the Turinese as President of the Republic. A visit where he will be accompanied by the president of Piedmont, Alberto Cirio, and by the mayor Stefano Lo Russo, who will take him on a journey between the past and the present of this city which, however, is often intertwined with the history of the nation.
The first appointment is at 10 at the Carignano theater for the celebration of 190 since the birth of the Council of State. The first step for the birth of administrative justice which fifty years ago was completed with the birth of the regional administrative courts. The Carignano event, therefore, will also serve to celebrate the revolutionary reform of the TARs. With Mattarella there will also be the president of the Constitutional Court Giancarlo Coraggio, the first president of the Cassation Pietro Curzio, the president of the Court of Auditors, Guido Carlino, and the president of the Council of State, Filippo Patroni Griffi. In addition to them, the general secretary of administrative justice Gabriele Carlotti, Giancarlo Coraggio, president of the Constitutional Court; Anna Rossomando, deputy president of the Senate, Mario Perantoni, president of the Justice Committee of the Chamber, Franco Frattini, deputy president of the Council of State and Vincenzo Salamone, president of the Administrative Court of Piedmont.
An hour later, on foot, the president will reach Palazzo Carignano, the seat of the first parliament of the Italian Kingdom and which now houses the Museum of the Risorgimento. Then from a symbolic place of the history of the unification of Italy it will move to Borgo Dora, a few steps from the Arsenale della Pace, a place where social and assistance experiences are intertwined. Here the Head of State will be welcomed by the founder of Sermig, Ernesto Olivero and by Rosanna Tabasso for the ribbon-cutting of the PalaSermig and the presentation of the sports and social project «For those who have no sport». Mattarella will listen to the testimonies of children and young people attending the sports center and at the end he will receive a pair of football shoes as a gift. Then the private lunch at the headquarters of the Youth Missionary Service.
Finally, at 4 pm the last official appointment: the ceremony for the 60th anniversary of the death of Luigi Einaudi, the second president of the Italian Republic elected in 1948. The ceremony will take place in the headquarters of the Einaudi foundation. The president, welcomed by the president of the institution, the former minister Domenico Siniscalco, will listen to the lesson of Daniele Franco. The Minister of Economy and Finance will speak on financial sustainability and environmental sustainability. Topical issues since they are intertwined with the approval of the budget law, the conclusion of the COP26 conference and the great opportunities for Italy linked to the PNRR and the billionaire funds of the Next Generation EU.
