25.4 million Italians have spent the August holiday away from home, including those who went to relatives and friends, those who went on holiday to the sea, in the countryside and in the mountains or to take a simple trip and leave worries behind linked to the pandemic. A trend that emerges from the balance drawn up by Coldiretti which shows that the great protagonists of the day were picnics and barbecues but there was no lack of those who chose to spend the appointment on a farm or in a restaurant.
Among the favorite entertainment of Italian and foreign tourists, alongside art, tradition, relaxation and pure fun, after the long lockdown there is the search for local food and wine which – Coldiretti underlines – has become the first item of the budget for Made holidays. in Italy in 2021 with about 1/3 of consumption expenditure in restaurants, street food or for the purchase of souvenirs.
