In the series “My money, your money” People tell us what role money plays in their relationship. And how they manage their shared finances. Today: Jens, 56.
My wife and I have very different views on money and wealth. It is important to her that she has enough money when she goes shopping at the supermarket. Money means much more to me: On the one hand, it allows me to make decisions freely without pressure. On the other hand, for me money is a measure of success. I take care of wealth planning and investments alone, as my wife has no interest in it and sees it as more of a burden. My wife also wants nothing to do with looking after the real estate. I also do my income tax alone.
