by admin

Msc Cruises has signed a five-year agreement with Cruise Saudi (company in charge of launching and promoting the cruise industry in Saudi Arabia) to preferential docking rights in the port of Jeddah until 2027.

The announcement of the agreement was made in Jeddah when the ship MSC Bellissima celebrated the opening of the city’s new passenger terminal, with a ceremony on board. The new infrastructure will welcome guests for the inaugural season of Bellissima in the Red Sea, which it offers three and four night cruises to Egypt and Jordan, departing from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, until the end of October.

“This – underlined Pierfrancesco Vago, executive chairman by Msc Cruises – it’s a historic day for us. The largest and most innovative cruise ship operating in the Red Sea has sailed from the new terminal in Jeddah, marking a new start for Saudi Arabia cruises and, more generally, for its growing tourism industry ».

“Thanks to this new agreement – continued Vago – we will work in unison together with Cruise Saudi to grow and develop sustainable tourism in Saudi Arabia, in line with our strategy and our objectives”.

“This event – echoed Mark Robinson, chief operations & commercial officer by Cruise Saudi – represents a milestone in the history of not only Cruise Saudi, but also the tourism industry in Saudi Arabia. Cruise Saudi aims to create 50,000 jobs by 2025, facilitating the construction of another five ports, with Jeddah as a homeport, and to welcome 1.5 million annual passenger visits by 2028 ”.
