After the scandal surrounding ex-director Patricia Schlesinger, there should be a fresh start at RBB. For this, the public broadcaster exchanged almost the entire board of directors. Because in addition to Schlesinger, Wolf-Dieter Wolf, the head of the most important control body, was at the center of the RBB affair about secret bonuses and massage seats, expensive prestige projects and alleged nepotism.
In this crisis situation, Vera Junker allegedly wanted to help the RBB to “clarify and remedy the existing serious grievances”. This is how the SPD politician and former senior public prosecutor recently presented it in a letter to the Berlin Senate Chancellery. Last April, the 62-year-old was a new member of the administrative board. As a former investigator, she was considered by many to be the ideal solution for the RBB thriller. But now a compliance affair about the new controller makes the broadcaster look bad.
