New agreement signed between Iuav and Iteso (Mexico)

by admin

Relations between Iuav (University Institute of Architecture) and Mexico are strengthened, with the signing of a new agreement between the Venetian university and the ITESO University of Guadalajara (Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente). The Rector Iuav Alberto Ferlenga and the Ambassador of Mexico in Italy, Carlos Eugenio García de Alba Zepeda, met at the Tolentini headquarters in Venice, in the presence of the honorary consul Leonardantonio Franchini and the Iuav professors Angelo Maggi (delegate of the rector for relations internationals) and Renato Rizzi. Rector and Mexican teachers went online. New exchange relationships between students and teachers are planned and the establishment of a chair dedicated to Luis Barragàn (1902-1988), considered the most important Mexican architect of the twentieth century. The chair will give rise to reciprocal exchanges between Venice and Guadalajara from year to year. The initiative follows other collaborations launched in recent years by Iuav with Mexico, in particular the two-year design program undertaken by prof. Renato Rizzi together with the Governor of Querétaro (Central Mexico) Francisco Domínguez Servién and the recent agreement with Fábrica de Ciudad of Mexico City.
