The new Dacia Spring which debuted in preview at the Geneva Motor Show is preparing for the launch in Italian dealerships scheduled for the end of the summer by announcing prices starting from a base of around 18,000 euros. There are two trim levels, Expression and Extreme, with Media Control as standard, the new multimedia system that can be managed with steering wheel controls to display information and telephone calls on the digital dashboard. It also features a Bluetooth connection and a USB port. As standard, however, for the Extreme there is Media Navi Live which includes a 10-inch touchscreen which includes connected navigation with real-time traffic information and constantly updated European maps. It also wirelessly manages the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functions. The Extreme also offers the V2L as standard the possibility of powering or charging external electrical devices such as a bicycle or scooter.

The 65 hp engine is now offered for the two trim levels

As mentioned, the two powertrains already planned have been reconfirmed. However, the 65 hp variant which offers superior performance, also confirmed by the possibility of going from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 14 seconds, is now also available for the Expression trim level. At an even lower price and focused above all on urban use, the new Spring with the 45 hp engine is available exclusively in Expression trim. Weighing just 984kg in the flagship Extreme trim, the new Spring is the only electric car in Europe to weigh less than a tonne. It should be considered that with the same set-up, the weight of the car increases by only 6 kg compared to the previous generation, despite the addition of driving assistance systems to which must be added both the improvement of the finishes and the standard equipment. Which translates into consumption below 14.6 kWh/100 km and a range of 225 km.

Business and Cargo are the two versions for professional use

The Business version, designed for car sharing operators, features interior and exterior features with materials and protections that guarantee greater durability. Furthermore, the Media Nav system with parking camera is provided as standard. The Spring Cargo, however, is intended for professional operators such as craftsmen and delivery workers. With the rear loading platform, the internal volume is over 1,000 liters and the capacity goes beyond 350 kg, and there is a practical and functional set-up for transport: Media Live is offered as standard and V2L functionality is available as an option. Furthermore, the Cargo is produced directly in the factory with N1 approval and adopts a dividing bulkhead between the front and rear and various securing rings for the load. Finally, both versions can be chosen in the 45 or 65 hp variants with the latter being available as standard with a DC fast charging socket.

All list prices including professional variants

As mentioned, the range offering of the new Dacia Spring includes 2 power levels which correspond to 2 setups for a total of 3 versions. We start from the Spring 45 hp Expression which is on sale for 17,900 euros, while in the 65 hp version the price is around 18,900 euros. Indien the 65 hp Spring in the top of the Extreme range costs around 19,900 euros. However, there are four variants for professional use: the 45 hp Business Spring costs 19,200 euros, while the 65 hp Business is on sale for 20,200 euros. Moving on to the Cargo models, the 45 hp costs 18,900 euros and the 65 hp is on sale for 19,900 euros. Since the launch in 2021 in Europe, over 140,000 Spring have already been sold. 2023, in particular, was a year of record sales, with 61,803 units registered worldwide, equal to a growth of 26.4% compared to 2022. On the Italian market, the Spring cars sold since launch have been almost 11 thousand units, the third best-selling electric model.

Statistics provided by customers when using Spring

A price list which, in addition to always remaining below the strategic threshold of 20 thousand euros, will then be remodeled on the basis of the state incentives which are soon to be introduced, to which those of the Romanian brand and others will also be added. Which will translate into a very competitive transition to electricity even for private customers. Finally, it should be noted that Dacia recently announced all the results of an interesting analysis of the data provided by the Spring of customers who have used it to date. This information confirms the urban nature of the car and the validity of the design choices introduced by Dacia’s electric. On average, in fact, those who drive a Spring travel about 37 kilometers a day, especially at speeds of less than 40 km/h. As for charging the Spring, 75% of customers explained that they recharge the car from the charging station at home and especially during the night.
