Parliament, one sixth of those elected declare shares and shares in various companies

They are in Parliament one hundred deputies and senators clearly conflict of interest. But this is only on paper because in Italy there is no law that regulates these aspects. So bills end up in the documents in the sectors in which some of them do business, it’s about lobbyists of their own. They have shares in companies, but – we read in Repubblica – they are forget to declare them. They have roles on boards of directors and different businesses and yet they present urgent questions to ministers on matters that concern those same companies. In some cases they sit simultaneously in Parliament and on two or three boards of directors of companies that deal with the State for millionaire contracts. So today they are in Parliament 100 deputies and senatorssome also ministers, deputy ministers and undersecretaries, who have shareholdings or roles in businesses and societies.
