CCTV News: Reporters learned from the National Grain and Material Reserves Bureau on March 22 that so far, more than 80% of the country’s autumn grain purchases have been completed, totaling more than 170 million tons.

The progress of autumn grain procurement across the country is accelerating, with efforts increasing in various regions such as Huanglong, Shaanxi; Pukou, Jiangsu; Wucheng, Shandong; and Yanting, Sichuan. Grain reserve companies and trading entities are actively involved in purchasing and storage, while digital control systems streamline the entire procurement process.

China Grain Reserves Corporation has expanded acquisitions in key regions like Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, and Inner Mongolia, stimulating market activity and ensuring surplus grain from farmers is sold efficiently. Measures such as extending operating hours and encouraging the use of the “Benefiting Sannong” App are reducing queues and facilitating quick grain sales.

The State Administration of Grain and Material Reserves is guiding Northeast China and relevant enterprises to speed up purchase progress and connect production with sales, ensuring an orderly grain selling process. The autumn grain purchase is expected to conclude by the end of April.

Under the initiative of “Sunshine Trading,” public bidding for local grain reserves has been accelerated through modern technology applications. The level of supervision in grain purchase and sales has significantly improved, with a significant increase in transaction volumes through the national grain trading platform.

“Operation Iron Fist” has been launched by the State Administration of Grain and Material Reserves to combat grain-related violations. The year-long operation aims to maintain strict supervision across grain purchase, storage, and transportation activities, ensuring the integrity of the country’s granary.

Authorities are employing real-time data analysis and special law enforcement inspections to enforce compliance and quality standards in grain reserves. The operation will continue throughout 2024 to address reported issues and maintain the stability of the grain market.

Zhong Haitao, director of the Law Enforcement Supervision Bureau, emphasized the comprehensive coverage of “Operation Iron Fist” and its focus on policy grain business activities. The operation serves as a crucial safeguard for the nation’s grain reserves.
