The average monthly amount of the old-age pension is 1,271.04 euros and has the highest value in the north with 1,338.24 euros. Men receive pensions on average higher than women, reaching almost double (+ 87.9%) in the north for the old age category. This is what emerges from the latest INPS report, released today.
Looking at the pension allowance in detail, 59.6% of pensions have an amount of less than 750.00 euros. This percentage, which for women reaches 72.6%, is only an indicative measure of “poverty”, specifies the INPS, due to the fact that many retirees are holders of multiple pension benefits or in any case other income. Of the 10,608,976 pensions with an amount of less than 750 euros, only 43% benefit from benefits linked to low income requirements, such as minimum integration, social increases, pensions and social allowances and civil invalidity pensions.
In this context, the gap between the two sexes is accentuated. In fact, for men the percentage of benefits with an amount of less than 750 euros drops to 36.8% and if we analyze the situation in the old age category, it is observed that this percentage drops to 21.2% and of these only 19.9% it consists of pensions meeting the requirements to support income. Again for men, it is noted that over a third of old-age pensions are between 1,500 and 3,000 euros.
