Plenitude (Eni): new “utility-scale” battery plant in Assemini

Plenitude, Eni’s Benefit Company specializing in the production of electricity from renewable sources, energy sales and energy solutions, as well as in the management of a vast charging network for electric vehicles, has announced the entry into operation of the new Assemini battery plant (Cagliari). This plant is the first utility-scale plant built by the company in Italy.

The Assemini plant, with an installed power of 15 MW and an energy storage capacity of 9 MWh, was built using battery modules based on Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) technology, currently the most performing in terms of cost -performance. This project represents an important step forward in supporting the integration of renewable energies into the Italian electricity grid.
