Financing agreement between the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) to support tourism and urban regeneration in Italy. In detail, the agreement provides for the creation of a Fund of Funds for an initial amount of 772 million euros from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and relating to interventions under the responsibility of the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of the Interior. . The EIB will convey these resources to companies through Financial Intermediaries to be selected with an expression of public interest.
The Fund of Funds will intervene in favor of companies that will propose sustainable investment programs, in line with the objectives and strategic priorities of the thematic sectors of Tourism and Urban Regeneration, to optimize the results to be pursued thanks also to the related leverage effect that the instrument in speech it is able to generate. 500 million euros will be allocated to tourism to support the strategic priorities shared with the Ministry of Tourism, while 272 million will go to urban regeneration in support of the strategic priorities shared with the Ministry of the Interior.
