European stock exchanges open cautiously and aim for a rebound after yesterday’s crash, in a market context that is still dominated by volatility and uncertainty. In the background, fears persist that central bank efforts to curb inflation will lead to a global recession, following the Fed’s hawkish moves, the Boe’s tightening and the surprise announced by the Swiss central bank. The Cac 40 in Paris rises 0.34% to 5,906.27 points, the Dax 30 in Frankfurt registers a progress of 0.25% to 13,071.96 points and the Ftse 100 in London gains 0.18% to 7,057 , 72 points. At Piazza Affari, the Ftse Mib index rose by 0.27% in early trading at 21,785.89 points.
