The 10th Xinhuanet Sike Annual Conference (Shanxi) was recently held in Linfen City, Shanxi Province, with the theme of “The Next Step of China’s Economy: Promoting High-Quality Development with New Productivity.” During the conference, discussions revolved around the development of Tao and the transformation and development of a resource-based economy.
Shanxi has been making positive strides in the transformation and development of its economy, with a focus on promoting high-quality development and the pilot comprehensive reform of energy revolution, ecological protection, and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin. Linfen City, in particular, has been recognized as a hot investment city in China for two consecutive years and was awarded the title of the 2023 Best Investment City.
The conference also stressed the importance of establishing a full-scale carbon emission reduction accounting system and utilizing technological innovation to lead the comprehensive revitalization of industries. It was highlighted that there is an urgent need for talents in the field of artificial intelligence, and efforts should be made to cultivate and introduce artificial intelligence innovators, users, and managers to ensure its development.

Additionally, the Xinhuanet Sike Lecture featured speeches on “How Excellent Culture Empowers City Brand Promotion,” “Opportunities and Challenges in the Era of Digital Transformation,” and “Three Jins Originate from the Chinese Soul – Reunderstanding the History of Linfen,” providing insights on the integration of data and reality, cultural resources, and city brand communication.
