Recall Alert: Children’s Rhinestone Silver Tiara Contaminated with Lead Sold on Amazon

A silver rhinestone crown that was sold on Amazon for girls to play princesses has been recalled because it is contaminated with lead, the Department of Health reported.

“NOTICE | Citizens are alerted to the withdrawal of items contaminated with lead, sold in online stores from January 2021 to November 2023,” says the message published in the X.

This is the Yaomiao Children’s Rhinestone Silver Tiaras, which has pink and silver details.

“The consumer is urged to return the product immediately. Minimize the risk of exposure!”, continues the message published by Health.

Children under 6 years of age are more likely to be exposed and have fatal health effects from lead poisoning, as they are in direct contact with the metal, either by swallowing or breathing lead or lead dust where they live, play, or learn. This causes lead to easily enter the blood.

Lead exposure can cause permanent damage to a child’s development, affecting how they learn, pay attention, and academically.
