Officially no communication from the League on the very delicate topic of candidatures for the regional elections at the end of the party’s federal council which was held in Milan. But according to how much Affaritaliani.it is able to reveal, Matteo Salvini has neither announced a rift with Giorgia Meloni and Fratelli d’Italia, in particular over Sardinia, nor a surrender to the Prime Minister’s party. Sources present at the meeting of the League’s highest body report that the secretary “explained the state of the art”, i.e. the stalemate situation in the centre-right with the League aiming to re-nominate the incumbents, including Christian Solinas in Sardinia, but that the regional table and Brothers of Italy have decided to focus on the mayor of Cagliari Paolo Truzzo.
