The first steps in an application looked the same almost everywhere for decades: write a cover letter, adapt your CV, collect attachments, send them off. However, many employers are now offering an alternative: You can either apply to them directly on the job network LinkedIn. Or they have their own personnel platform to which the data from the LinkedIn profile can be uploaded.
It should be faster, practical and uncomplicated for both sides. However, there are many things to consider when applying to LinkedIn. And whether it makes sense at all depends on a number of factors, say HR managers and career consultants.
