Rome, Elkann meets Mattarella and Giorgetti: Stellantis’ commitment to Italy reaffirmed

It was a day of institutional meetings in Rome for the president of Stellantis, John Elkann, who saw the Minister of Economy Giancarlo Giorgetti, the head of state Sergio Mattarella, the US ambassador to Italy Jack Markell, the commander general of Carabinieri Teo Luzi and the governor of Bank of Italy, Fabio Panetta. The meetings, planned for some time, offered the opportunity to take stock of the group’s Italian activities. Elkann reiterated his commitment to implementing the industrial projects underway and to the activities of common interest covered by the discussion at Mimit.

John Elkann had been very clear on the possible merger with Renault: «There is no plan under study regarding merger operations of Stellantis with other manufacturers» he declared yesterday, while the group’s and Renault’s stocks animated the opening of the stock exchanges. «The company is focused on the execution of the “Dare forward” strategic plan and on the timely implementation of the projects announced to strengthen the activity in every market where it is present, including Italy» then added the president and first shareholder of the company created four years ago from the merger between FCA and PSA/Peugeot.
