Shanxi Leads the Way in Energy Supply Guarantee, Pushing Forward with Smart Energy Systems Construction
In a recent announcement, Shanxi province has been recognized for its outstanding performance in energy supply guarantee, ranking first in the country in five key indicators. This achievement highlights Shanxi’s commitment to ensuring energy security and driving the development of smart energy systems.
At the Shanxi Province Energy Work Conference held on February 25, Deng Weiyuan, Party Secretary and Director of the Shanxi Provincial Energy Bureau, emphasized the province’s dedication to accelerating the construction of a pilot pilot area for comprehensive reform of the energy revolution.
In 2023, Shanxi secured the top spot in the country in five indicators of energy supply guarantee. This includes significant increases in coal production, with an annual output of 1.378 billion tons, ensuring stable supply to 24 provinces. Additionally, Shanxi led the way in electricity supply through inter-provincial power spot markets, showcasing its commitment to innovation in the energy sector.
Shanxi has also made significant strides in unconventional natural gas production, with a focus on expanding coalbed methane production. The province’s efforts in low-carbon energy transformation have been evident through the implementation of intelligent coal mines and the promotion of green power grid connections.
Looking ahead to 2024, Shanxi remains dedicated to ensuring safe and stable energy supply. Plans include strengthening monitoring and early warning systems in all aspects of coal production and transportation, as well as advancing the construction of smart energy systems.
As a pilot province for the energy revolution, Shanxi will continue to prioritize the intelligentization of mining operations and the application of new technologies such as the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence.
