**Controversy Surrounds Starring Role in Hit TV Series “Hunting Ice”**

The recently aired TV series “Hunting Ice” has been gaining popularity, but not without its fair share of controversy. The show, directed by Gao Qunshu and Wan Peng, stars Zhang Songwen and Yao Anna. However, it is Yao Anna’s acting that has sparked debate, especially since she is the daughter of Huawei President Ren Zhengfei.

Some critics have accused Gao Qunshu of poor casting choices, while others have insinuated that Yao Anna lacks the necessary acting skills. In response, Gao Qunshu has defended the production, stating that “Hunting Ice” was made on a low budget and as a simple drama. Despite the criticism, the show has been gaining traction on the broadcast platform Tencent Video.

Based on a true drug lord story, “Hunting Ice” follows a cat-and-mouse game between a drug lord, played by Zhang Songwen, and a determined policewoman, played by Yao Anna. The show is inspired by the real-life story of Liu Zhaohua, a notorious drug lord who was executed in 2009.

While Zhang Songwen’s performance has been praised by viewers, Yao Anna’s acting has been met with mixed reviews. Some viewers have criticized her for her immature acting skills and lack of consistency in portraying her character’s emotions.

In response to the backlash, Gao Qunshu has stood by his decision to cast Yao Anna, describing her as “a blank piece of paper” that he believes has the potential to grow as an actor. He also revealed that the show was made on a shoestring budget, with minimal resources and a crew of newcomers.

Despite the controversy, “Hunting Ice” continues to attract viewers, thanks in part to the star power of Zhang Songwen and the fresh talent of Yao Anna. As the show progresses, it remains to be seen how Yao Anna’s performance will evolve and whether the show can overcome its production challenges to deliver a compelling viewing experience.
