Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck presented the federal government’s annual economic report on February 21, 2024. In it, the economic forecast for 2024 is reduced to 0.2% and the medium-term growth potential is reduced to 0.5%. The economic miracle that Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced a year ago is now cancelled. The government seems to have come to terms with reality. Is there now a comeback of incentive-oriented economic policy or will we continue with an economic policy that increasingly relies on appeals?
