An exhibition (free admission) on technological applications made in Italy at the forefront of the world, from those for civil protection and post-emergency prevention and reconstruction, will make its debut in Florence from 13 to 16 October in the exhibition spaces of the Fortezza da Basso. to aerospace technologies, for infrastructures, for renewable energies, for water and the environment, for meteorology and climatology, for smart cities, up to those for artificial intelligence. These are solutions that make Italy a leader in many fields, such as in the case of geo-spatial Earth control systems for high resolution data acquisition, but which are often not known by the public.
The exhibition, promoted by the Department of Civil Protection, Ispra (Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research), the Italian Home Department and the National Fire Brigade, is called Earth Technology Expo and looks at the objectives of the digital transition as a support to ecological transition and those of innovation foreseen by the Next Generation Eu.

“For the first time, Italy is showing its extraordinary ability to create, innovate and use technologies to improve the quality of life of people, the environment and cities, for space surveillance of the territory, for knowledge and the control of the subsoil, soil, sea, water, wooded areas and urban environments ”, explain the organizers.
On display there will be satellites, sensors and hi-tech products, accompanied by the presentation of research and inventions entrusted to Civil Protection, Ministries, Regions and Municipalities, Universities, research bodies, companies and public service companies, associations, startups, aerospace clusters , public administrators, business leaders, scientists and experts. The goal is the exchange of knowledge on applications, also in the course of experimentation.
A post-pandemic relaunch message will also start from the Florence Technological Expo: “That of a leading Italy – say the organizers – that creates and produces technologies, competes in the world on innovation and runs towards an unprecedented technological evolution that puts it at the top of the world ».
