Convenience and practicality in shopping, at the supermarket you can save up to 1,720 euros a year. To make the accounts in the pocket of the Italians is a survey by Altroconsumo where the average expenditure is € 6,853 per year, according to Istat 2020 data. To do this, it analyzed the prices of 125 categories of food products, for home and personal care, and of pet food in 1,148 stores, distributed in 70 Italian cities.
At a territorial level, the association has identified the levels of savings on spending in the various Italian cities (70) and the survey shows that the one in which there is the greatest possibility of saving is Rovigo, where the most convenient store is located. ‘Italy, where you can save up to 1,720 euros per year. In second and third position, Emilia-Romagna is the host: in Reggio Emilia and Modena, you can save up to 1,523 euros, in Ravenna up to 1,400 euros (on par with Brescia).
Also this year the Triveneto is confirmed as one of the areas of the Peninsula where the cheapest shops are found, with as many as 20 points of sale in the top 30 positions. There is a clear difference with the cities of the Center-South where the saving by choosing the cheapest supermarket is equal to 2% (against 20% in Rovigo), about 100 euros per year. These are Potenza, Pesaro, Pistoia, Sassari, Reggio Calabria, Foggia, all places where there is little competition.
