It’s called E-taly and it’s a scooter or rather a self-sanitizing e-scooter. But a very special scooter because it is the son of the Italdesign designer and therefore of the great Giugiaro tradition. And then because it was designed with cutting-edge technological know-how. In the meantime, it is a candidate project to concretely recover and relaunch at least a part of the large industrial area of Termini Imerese in the province of Palermo on which the relaunch is still being discussed and we are waiting to know the fate of the area that once belonged lastly of Blutec.
In one of the factories in the area is Fiat, in the plant that was once owned by Magneti Marelli, Raybotics, a start-up born from the intuition of Fabio Greco and Enzo Catenacci, wants to establish the production of this scooter. Which would become, in some way, in the thoughts of the Mechatronics District led by Antonello Mineo, the symbol of the rebirth of an area and a territory. The e-scooter concept should be ready by September and then arrive by February next year for the definition of the prototype whose validation (and test drive) should be completed by September 2022 with subsequent presentation to the public between October and November. In practice, production should start in 2023: a total investment of five million is expected and the initial hiring of about twenty people. «A project – explains Mineo – which is coupled with the launch of the incubator and the establishment in the industrial area of Termini Imerese of innovative companies including Raybotics itself. In fact, the innovative vocation of this area is beginning to take shape, which can find in the new products a concrete basis for relaunching, so much so as to give the territory some answers it has been waiting for for years “.
