The EU is in an economic crisis: the revelation of the German economic newspaper. And if Ukraine loses the war…
Perhaps the recent statements about Ukraine by the former Italian Prime Minister and the ECB should be read differently Mario Draghi at MIT in Boston: “Accepting a Russian victory or a confused draw would fatally weaken other neighboring states”.
Without beating around the bush it was understood that a defeat of Ukraine, in the conflict with the Russians, would mark the end of the European Union as we know it. Not so much for Russian expansionist aims but for Europe’s inability to resist its own contradictions: the union of many countries that are very different in terms of cultures and economic interests.
