From 9 June to 7 September, Ismea opens the fourth auction to put agricultural land back into circulation resulting from unsuccessful land transactions . A green heritage available to anyone who wants to apply, but which reserves favorable conditions for young women of all ages: for example, agricultural entrepreneurs under 41 are granted the opportunity to pay the price of the land in installments for a maximum of 30 years .
The National Bank of Agricultural Lands (http://www.ismea.it/banca-delle-terre to consult all the land at auction) was established in 2016 and in addition to the land of Ismea also collects land areas belonging to the Regions and to other public entities. Since its inception, the Bank has showcased 530 lands, for a total of 15,478 hectares: of these, 8,345 hectares have been awarded, with a collection of 84 million euros destined to support, by law, new interventions in favor Young people.

“In Italy today the land accounts for 60% of the value of the company assets – explains the president of Ismea, Enrico Corali – the land base therefore represents the greatest barrier of entry for those who want to undertake an agricultural activity, a barrier often insurmountable for many young people who do not operate in generational continuity but are entering the sector for the first time ». Although the last five years have seen the number of youth-run companies grow considerably, in a scenario of general contraction in the number of companies in the sector, the generational turnover rate is still quite low. While in Europe there are 32 young people for every 100 senior managers, that is 65 years and over, in Italy there are only 19.
On the Bank, the land will be on sale from 9 June to 7 September. Compared to the previous editions, this auction presents a novelty: for the land that has now reached the fourth auction, that is, which went unsold during the previous three editions, bids may also be submitted downwards, as long as the minimum value does not go beyond below 35% of the auction base value. On the other hand, the 25% drop in the price for land on the second and third attempts remains confirmed.
The land is mainly located in the southern regions, with Sicily, Basilicata and Puglia alone covering more than half of the available surfaces. Tuscany follows, with a 17% share, while the remaining 9% is distributed between Emilia-Romagna, Veneto, Lombardy, Piedmont and Liguria. Of the 624 plots on sale since June 9, 335 are on the first attempt to sell, 93 on the second, 115 on the third and 81 on the fourth.
