The future of Jeep, Stellantis’ most important premium brand, will be increasingly electrified. While two electric vehicles, the Wagoneer S and the Recon, will debut in the USA by the end of 2024, in Europe the evolution of the current range provides for the availability of two variants of the Avenger, the e-Hybrid recently on sale at the starting price of 26,000 euros and the 4×4 by the end of the year. To which will be added the restyling of the Renegade, 10 years later, given that it debuted in 2014 and the renewal of the Compass scheduled for 2025 which includes a 100% electric variant in the new offer.

Jeep Wagoneer S also revealed the new hi-tech interiors

After the teaser of the series version, Jeep has anticipated the details of the electric SUV which will debut in the US in autumn and will land in Europe at the beginning of 2025. The Wagoneer S aims high for its elegant style and modern interior. It was inspired by the 1963 Wagoneer with its interior featuring refined materials, but today’s interior is the most modern on the market. From the first images you can see the digitalised dashboard, with the instrument display flanked in the center by the infotainment touchscreen plus the additional display which is dedicated to the passenger.

The platform is the Stla Large accredited with 600 horsepower

There are still no other previews on the technical contents of the car other than that it uses the Stellantis group’s Stla Large platform capable of supporting battery models, but also hybrid and thermal models. For the Wagoneer S, an electric, it is expected to offer an 800-volt configuration and a 110 kWh battery pack for an estimated range of around 640 km. There are five driving modes available: Sand, Snow, Eco, Auto and Sport. The Wagoneer S will also offer a large double-panel panoramic roof as standard as well as a 19-speaker McIntosh audio system.

Recon a natural evolution of the iconic Wrangler

On the Wagoneer S, 4xe all-wheel drive with the All-terrain management system will be standard and the horsepower will be 600 hp, for a 0-100 kmh in 3.5 seconds. The latest images demonstrate that the definitive version of the Wagoneer S has remained faithful to the 2022 concept car. And we come to the other electric SUV, the Recon which is an evolution of the Wrangler because it has what is needed for off-road, on the one hand high ground clearance with all-wheel drive, but it’s not a pure 4×4 like the Jeep icon. More details are expected at launch in the US later this year and shortly thereafter in Europe.

Open top solutions for off-road use and beyond

Many of the Recon solutions are derived from the Wrangler. The possibility, for example, of removing the doors and rear windows. Unlike the Wrangler, however, the Recon does not have a removable roof, but a soft top that can be retracted in electric mode. With the Recon, Jeep introduces a sort of trait d’union between its range of sport utility vehicles and models for off-road use. The car will fit into a sector that has been abandoned for years. In the past, in fact, Jeep had proposed models between the world of SUVs and that of harder off-road vehicles, such as the 2005 Commander.
