The Vittoria shipyard delivers two units to the Italian Coast Guard

The Vittoria shipyard in Adria (Rovigo) delivers two units to the Italian Coast Guard and thus brings to four the number of boats supplied to the military, as part of the order, of the total value of 10.45 million euros, for five boats of the category Search and rescue Cp300, intended for the body of the Port Authorities.

With a ceremony at the Grandi quay in Porto Levante, the shipyard, which specializes in the design and construction of military, paramilitary, work and commercial boats, delivered the Cp331 and Cp332 units to the Coast Guard. It is, explains a note, of «unsinkable and self-righting boats, mainly intended for carrying out search and rescue operations at sea ».

European competition in 2016

The ceremony was attended by Paolo Duò, president of the Vittoria shipyard, and a delegation of the Coast Guard represented by lieutenant Pietro Alaimo and first class chief Ippazio Rizzo. The first two units were delivered last February.

The Adria shipyard was awarded the European tender launched by the Ministry of Transport. The units made are light aluminum alloy vehicles about 20 meters long, 4.5 meters wide and with a draft of 0.95 meters. The boats have been designed to reach a continuous maximum speed of 35 knots and are capable of accommodating up to 200 people.

Portfolio of 80 units

«With today’s delivery – said Duò – we are contributing to making the Coast Guard fleet of the country richer, more innovative and more modern and with this ceremony we confirm a historic relationship of collaboration. Our company can boast a portfolio consisting of over 80 units Search and rescue built for various maritime police corps or harbor offices of the Mediterranean basin; among these, about 65 class 800 units, in service for over 20 years with the Coast Guard ».
