Maximum attention to the UniCredit-Mps dossier. Yesterday, UniCredit stock closed the Piazza Affari session with a 5.10% rally, at € 11.54, revising the highs since February 2020.
The buys were sparked by market speculation, according to which the bank led by Andrea Orcel would be closer to reaching an agreement with Mps.
The agreement should be announced following the supplementary elections in Siena on 3-4 October, which see the secretary of the Pd Enrico Letta run for the parliamentary seat left vacant by Pier Carlo Padoan, current president of Unicredit.
“I think these are market bets in relation to progress in the transaction with Mps”, commented Vincenzo Longo, an analyst at Ig Markets, according to what was reported by the Ansa news agency, referring to the jump in the prices of Piazza Gae Aulenti .
Mps gained 1.4% to 1.1 euros.
