Where does German drinking water come from

There aren’t enough of these around Dresden, Erfurt or in the Ruhrpott, for example. Countries such as Brandenburg, Hamburg, Bavaria, Saarland and Schleswig-Holstein almost exclusively use groundwater as a source. To make groundwater drinkable, waterworks aerate it, filter out particles, remove manganese or iron, add oxygen, and disinfect it.
