Coop beats everyone: which major retailers are growing the most, which ones are struggling and where the next stores will be opening
Hundreds of supermarkets have opened in Switzerland in the last decade. Coop in particular grew and could soon expand to over 1,000 branches, while Migros lagged behind and Spar shrank. This is shown by an exclusive evaluation.
No retailer has opened as many new branches as Coop in the last ten years.

Almost 1,000 people live in the Verzasca Valley in the canton of Ticino. On nice days there are many more tourists who stroll across the Roman bridge in Lavertezzo. Soon they will do the same with a triangle sandwich and a Coke from the supermarket in their hand: Coop is expected to open a new branch in the valley in a year.
